About SAIL
SAIL began in 1982 as a grassroots effort by parents determined to create housing and support services for their adult children with psychiatric disabilities. They incorporated as a nonprofit and formed the agency’s first Board of Directors.
SAIL opened its first Community Residence in 1984 and has since grown to serve communities through a broad range of residential and community-based programs that promote housing stability, personal empowerment, and long-term recovery.

Our mission is to empower persons affected by mental illness and substance use disorders achieve independence and lead healthier lives.
To promote health, wellness, and independence by providing access to housing opportunities and services through the expansion of programs and partnerships.
