Christopher Kinsella is the Vice President of Finance at SAIL and has more than 20 years of accounting experience in working with nonprofit organizations. Chris joined SAIL in 2010 as the Assistant Controller and was named Vice President of Finance in 2024.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from SUNY Old Westbury and started his accounting career working in public accounting with a firm who specialized in and catered to only nonprofits. Chris held the position of Senior accountant and Audit manager during his tenure while working with and auditing many nonprofits across the tri state area. He also holds a New York State Notary public license.

Chris brings expertise in management, financial statement reporting, regulatory compliance, auditing and accounting. He manages budgets and maintains compliance and recording of government grants from local, state and federal funding sources while also performing oversight of Medicaid billing. He is the liaison with the external financial/ compliance auditors ensuring accurate financial statement reporting in a timely manner.

Known for his hands-on, open-door leadership style, Chris works side by side with the Chief Financial Officer to facilitate financial management and compliance with agency financial standards while maintaining a workplace culture that breeds success.

Chris is an avid animal lover who donates to local and national animal rescues and shelters while maintaining a house and backyard full of local and domestic animals.

Richard Staab began his journey with SAIL in 2008 as the ATP 2 Program Supervisor, bringing with him valuable experience in Community Residences and Apartment Treatment Program settings. He quickly became an integral part of SAIL’s residential programs and was promoted to Program Coordinator, where he worked closely with all of SAIL’s Supported Housing programs.

During this time, Richard spearheaded numerous activities and events for SAIL consumers, including trips to Mets games, the Museum of Natural History, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and SAIL’s first art show. These efforts reflected his deep commitment to fostering socialization, community integration, and meaningful experiences for those SAIL serves. Through these initiatives, Richard built lasting relationships with many of SAIL’s consumers and employees.

In 2011, Richard left SAIL to embark on a journey traveling the Americas by motorcycle, documenting his experiences along the way. He later expanded his expertise working in New York City with OASAS and Health Homes before returning to SAIL in 2015 as an Employment Specialist on the ACT 1 Team.

Richard’s leadership continued to grow as he became Team Leader in 2017 and Director of ACT Services in 2020. Today, he serves as Vice President of Community-Based Services, overseeing SAIL’s three ACT Teams and its MRS Team.

With nearly 20 years of experience in the mental health field, Richard brings a wealth of knowledge and a steadfast commitment to quality care. He holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Adelphi University.

Stephanie Paterno brings over 15 years of experience in social services, with a specialized focus on residential care and behavioral health. She has worked as a Behavior Intervention Specialist, supporting individuals across the lifespan—from young children to adults—in both community-based and residential settings. Before relocating to New York, she gained valuable experience in a variety of complex environments, including forensic programs for juvenile offenders and dual diagnosis residential treatment programs.

Since joining SAIL in 2016, Stephanie has held multiple leadership roles within the organization’s residential programs. As Vice President of Residential Services, she oversees SAIL’s Community Residences, Apartment Treatment Program, Supportive Housing, and OASAS programs. Her leadership is guided by a person-centered, strength-based philosophy that empowers individuals in their recovery journeys.

Stephanie is committed to strengthening internal systems, designing staffing models and support structures that promote high-quality, collaborative service delivery. Her work champions a multidisciplinary approach that meets both immediate and long-term needs of residents.

She holds dual master’s degrees in Social Work and Psychology and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Social Work at Adelphi University. Her educational and professional journey reflects a commitment to lifelong learning, innovation, and impact-driven leadership.

Stephanie remains deeply committed to advancing SAIL’s mission by driving innovation, strengthening programs, and leading with purpose. Through her expertise in residential program management, housing initiatives, and team leadership, she continues to shape services that improve lives and promote lasting recovery across the communities SAIL serves.

Anshuman brings over 25 years of hands-on experience in construction management and real estate operations, with deep expertise spanning property management, HVAC systems, high-end residential remodeling, property acquisition, and investor relations. His strategic leadership has scaled portfolios, streamlined operations, and driven consistent results. He joined SAIL in 2020 as Properties Manager and was appointed Vice President of Properties Management and Development in 2024.

Throughout his career, Anshuman has successfully managed diverse property portfolios, collaborating with developers, investors, and local authorities to enhance value and ensure compliance. He has led major renovation and construction projects from concept to completion, overseeing every phase—from design coordination to final inspection.

Anshuman holds an MBA along with certifications in construction management and HVAC. This educational foundation complements his field experience, enabling him to fulfill his responsibility with efficient solutions.

Beyond real estate, Anshuman brings significant experience in fleet management and vendor negotiations, improving operational efficiency across projects and teams. His ability to cultivate long-term partnerships, combined with a strong technical understanding of building systems and infrastructure, makes him a trusted leader in property management and development.

A valued partner to investors and developers alike, Anshuman excels at identifying value-add opportunities, optimizing asset performance, and aligning property strategies with broader business goals. Known for his hands-on leadership, technical acumen, and eye for detail, he continues to drive excellence in property operations and investment outcomes.

Gary Conn, LMSW

Vice President of Technology & Administrative services

Gary Conn brings more than 20 years of experience in the social services field, combining clinical expertise with a strong background in technology and operations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from SUNY Oswego and a Master of Social Work from Adelphi University and is a Licensed Social Worker in New York State. His unique professional path, beginning as a computer science major before transitioning into social work, has equipped him with a rare blend of technical and clinical expertise, allowing him to play a critical role in strengthening organizational systems and efficiency.

Gary joined SAIL in 2009 and currently serves as Vice President of Technology and Administrative Services. In his current role, Gary is responsible for the organization and management of Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, applications and local support. In addition, he is responsible for oversight of the Administrative Support team designed to provide high-quality customer-centric support. In the VP role, Gary will continue to create efficiencies and enhancements in the internal and external purchasing structure for the organization.

His early roles included working directly with individuals in psychiatric need in our residential programs, with a focus on supportive services that enable residents to live independently in the community. Gary has since held a wide range of leadership roles across the organization, responsible for oversight of services and departments including, Program Director of Supportive Housing, Office Manager, Director of Facilities and Administrative Services, and Director of Administrative Services and IT.

With his forward-thinking approach and dedication to SAIL, Gary remains deeply connected to his social work background. He continues to apply his social work training by mentoring interns and coaching colleagues, equipping them with the skills and confidence to become future leaders within the organization and supporting the development of future professionals in the field by participating in clinical supervision groups.
